Filippo Berta

Filippo Berta,
Filippo Berta, "Homo Homini Lupus," 2011. Still from video; three minutes.

Short description: In a desolate plain some wolves are fighting for a flag as if it were the only vital and powerful source, causing an insane and convulsive struggle in which each tries to tear apart as many shreds as possible. The flag expresses a double meaning, because in human history it has always marked a territory in which this fratricidal struggle happens and symbolizes the imposition of its power. The video shows a homogeneous society that hides in itself some different identities, which, excited by a violent survival instinct, rip and accumulate the resources of others so that they can impose their own power.
